Music Guild of Owatonna

is an organization of Owatonna area music teachers.  The purpose of this group is to further the enrichment of the local teaching community, to encourage musical interest and growth and promote excellence in music students.

Each year the Music Guild sponsors the following events:

Duet and Ensemble Festival
Sunday, November 11, 2007 
at the Owatonna Arts Center, West Hills

Students play duets or ensembles for an audience, including a judge.  Critiques and ribbons are awarded based on performance but students do not compete against each other.  There is a small entry fee of $3.50 for this activity to help cover cost of the Arts Center and judge.  Entry deadline is October 15, 2006.


Play-a-Thon

Students play holiday music as shoppers listen.  This is also a fund-raiser for the Music Guild.  There is an entry fee of $3.00 per student.  Donations are also appreciated from friends, family and the public.

Honors Recital:

2:00 p.m. at the Owatonna Arts Center, West Hills

Students play two contrasting songs for a judge.  One song must be from the Music Guild Solo Competition list and the other can be the student's choice.  Winners receive monetary awards and perform in an honors recital the following day.  Entry fee applies.

Pops Concert
February 11, 2008
Owatonna Arts Center

Enjoy a cabaret style performance of pop, ragtime and jazz music performed by students of local piano, voice and flute teachers!  Open to the public.  Admission charged.
